From there the group visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum at 9:10, Peace Memorial Park at 10:30, trum+ferry(Kamiyacyou-Miyajima) at 12:50, Miyajima Itsukushima Shrine at 14:10, ferry+JR+taxi(Hotel) at 15:55 and Tour finished at the Hotel at 16:45.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Kamiyacho-nishi to Hiroden Miyajimaguchi by train (240JPY); Miyajimaguchi to Nishi-Hiroshima by train (330JPY). Across 2 sections the fare came to 570JPY per person.
What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Peace Park and Miyajima
Early in the morning I received a message that one of the guests had a sore throat and wanted to buy a mask and pain reliever first thing. A drugstore near the Peace Park was open as of 8:30, so I first guided the group there to make the purchases. After that, I adjusted the itinerary to visit the Peace Park first and then Miyajima. The group was full of curiosity and asked many questions. I kept an eye on how everyone was feeling throughout the tour, but there were no problems, the weather was pleasant, and the guests seemed very satisfied with the Hiroshima tour.

I was born and raised in Hiroshima City. Hiroshima has 2 major tourists’ destinations, Itsukushima shrine and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Even so, there are many other wonderful spots here in Hiroshima.

We had such a wonderful full day of touring Miyajima and Hiroshima. Our guide, Shinya Tanaka (Woody) communicated with us before the tour and had a wonderful thorough laid out plan including Okonomiyaki for lunch. Woody was friendly, knowledgeable and organized. We could tell he loved being a tour guide and he was passionate about his hometown telling us about the impact the bombing had on his life. Woody also made origami cranes with our 3 kids ages 16, 14, 10 to dedicate to the children’s monument. It was such a special day that we will never forget.
