What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visiting Japan from North America on a long trip of about two months. When choosing places to visit, they expressed interest in hearing stories related to Catholicism, so after considering several options I took them to Noboricho Church near Shukkeien Garden, which was built to console the spirits of those who died after World War II and to pray for world peace. They seemed very satisfied with this visit, and I was glad I had taken them there. Afterwards I guided them to Shukkeien Garden, Hiroshima Castle, Peace Memorial Park, and Miyajima. Although our schedule was tight, they were able to collect stamps and goshuin seals. During the trip we learned that one of the guests had become sensitive to smells and foods, so they could not eat or drink very much, but they were able to enjoy fresh juice at Miyajima. Spending the day with the group made this a truly memorable tour for me as well.

We were a group of 3 and had a wonderful tour to Miyajima Island with our guide Menori. Menori picked us up from our hotel and helped us with trains and ferries, making travel seamless. She had a bubbly personality, was easy to talk to and very informative, on aspects of the island and Japanese life. I highly recommend this tour and Menori as a guide.

This was such an amazing tour! Minori our guide was sooo knowledgeable and made this trip so memorable. It was VERY crowded bc we happened to pick a holiday week🤦🏻♀️ But it was so worth it and Minori navigated those crowds like a pro! No way we would have learned as much as we did and gotten to see everything in one day if we didn’t have her guiding us! Highly recommend.

Minori was a lovely guide. She met us at our hotel and planned a very informative day in Hiroshima and Miyajima. She gave us insights into the events on August 4th 1945, as well as ensuring we had plenty of time for reading information, asking questions and taking photos. We went to a hidden gem for a delicious lunch before taking us on the fast ferry to Miyajima. We learnt the protocol for visiting a shrine. We enjoying sitting having a beer and sharing stories. We did a circular tour of important places in Hiroshima with a lovely guide.
