Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

I guided a group visiting from North America around Hiroshima. Since walking was difficult for one member of the group, we decided not to visit Daisho-in Temple. I had originally planned okonomiyaki for lunch, but the previous day the group had made and tasted okonomiyaki at the Otafuku Okonomi Museum, so instead we bought sandwiches and other items at a convenience store and ate them at Gate Park. Gate Park is the former site of the municipal baseball stadium and features an inscription commemorating the history of the Hiroshima Carp's championships, which sparked a lively conversation about baseball. This was because the group had watched a Carp game the day before. At the museum and the memorial monuments, the guests looked around very attentively. The guests had read books about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and had a considerable amount of knowledge on the subject. They also expressed the view that dropping the atomic bomb was a war crime because it indiscriminately killed civilians. It was the first time I had heard such a view expressed by a guest from North America.
