Tour Itinerary
- 10:00 Meet at the taxi stand of the West Gate of Hiroshima Station
- 11:10 Arrive at Miyajima Island
- 12:40 Itsukushima Shrine and shopping
- 13:00 Lunch at the KUWARANKA Okonomiyaki restaurant
- 13:55 Take a ferry to Miyajima-guchi
- 15:20 Arrive in Peace Memorial Park, including the A-bomb Dome
- 16:10 Museum
- 17:15 Goodbye in front of the Country Cat shop
Tour Itinerary in Detail
From there the group visited Miyajima Island at 11:10, Itsukushima Shrine and shopping at 12:40, Take a ferry to Miyajima-guchi at 13:55, Peace Memorial Park, including the A-bomb Dome at 15:20, Museum at 16:10 and Goodbye in front of the Country Cat shop at 17:15.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Hiroshima Station to Miyajima-guchi by train (420JPY); Miyajima-guchi Station to A-bomb Dome by train (240JPY). Across 2 sections the fare came to 660JPY per person.
What's a Private Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Miyajima, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Local Food
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were very interested in omikuji fortunes and omamori charms, and each of them drew an omikuji. When I translated them, everyone became so cheerful that I found myself enjoying it too. For souvenirs, some of the guests bought magnets and a kendama. Some of the group ordered okonomiyaki with oysters, but they left the oysters uneaten. In front of the Atomic Bomb Dome, I explained things carefully and thoughtfully. I gave my explanation while saying, "This is probably different from what you learned in school, isn't it?" Everyone seemed to understand that what they had been taught in school about the atomic bombing was the official government version. When I asked if they had any questions, they said, "Nothing. All we can say is that we are sorry." They said they wanted to walk along the main shopping street, so I took them to the entrance and we parted ways there.

Hiroshima Tour with Yoshi
Yoshi was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond—meeting us at the station and making everything feel effortless and perfectly organized.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Hiroshima’s history. What made the experience even more special is that her perspective comes from someone who was born and raised there. Hearing the stories, details, and context directly from her added a level of depth and authenticity that you simply cannot get otherwise.
Beyond her knowledge, Yoshi is just a beautiful human being—kind, warm, and genuinely caring. Spending the day with her felt like a hug to the heart. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present in such a meaningful place.
She guided us through every site with perfect timing and intention, making sure we experienced everything without ever feeling rushed.
If you are visiting Hiroshima, I cannot recommend Yoshi enough. Seeing the city through her eyes is something truly unforgettable.
