From there the group visited Miyajima Island at 10:45, Torii Gate and Itsukushima SHrine at 12:00, OMOTESANDO shopping and lunch by themselves at 13:00, Ferry at 13:20, Take a tram at 13:35, A-bomb Dome at 14:30, Monument tour in Peace Memorial Park at 15:20, Waiting in front of the Museum for 50 minutes at 16:25, Museum at 16:35 and Good-bye at the Hiroshima station at 16:50.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi by train (420JPY); Miyajimaguchi to A-bomb Dome by train (270JPY); Peace Park Front to Hiroshima Station by train (220JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 910JPY per person.
What Is a Private Winter Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. The day in Hiroshima had a high of only 9 degrees, making it a very cold day. There was a 20-minute wait in front of the shrine, and another 50-minute wait in front of the atomic bomb museum, and inside it was extremely crowded, so the guests came out after just 10 minutes, saying they could hardly move in the main building. The unexpected crowds at both the shrine and the museum meant that one of the guests was shivering from the cold and could not really take in my explanations. Perhaps they had not checked Japan's winter temperatures beforehand. As the guide, I should have brought disposable heat packs! I should also have suggested purchasing heat packs or a plastic raincoat at a convenience store. It seemed that they had not studied much about the atomic bombing in their history education.

Hiroshima Tour with Yoshi
Yoshi was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond—meeting us at the station and making everything feel effortless and perfectly organized.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Hiroshima’s history. What made the experience even more special is that her perspective comes from someone who was born and raised there. Hearing the stories, details, and context directly from her added a level of depth and authenticity that you simply cannot get otherwise.
Beyond her knowledge, Yoshi is just a beautiful human being—kind, warm, and genuinely caring. Spending the day with her felt like a hug to the heart. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present in such a meaningful place.
She guided us through every site with perfect timing and intention, making sure we experienced everything without ever feeling rushed.
If you are visiting Hiroshima, I cannot recommend Yoshi enough. Seeing the city through her eyes is something truly unforgettable.
