Over the course of the day the route took in Castle Keep, Hyakken Corridor at 9:30, Souvenir shop at 12:40, Kokoen Garden at 13:20 and Himeji Station at 15:30.

The guests were visitors from Europe, visiting Japan for the first time. We went out to a park near the castle, where I showed them several food stalls. There they bought skewered dumplings (kushi-dango). Whether they truly liked the taste is hard to say, but they finished them completely.
The cherry blossoms were a little early, but the area was so crowded that movement was restricted in places. We managed to navigate around the crowds and enjoy our tour, which was wonderful. Hoping this would become a good memory of their trip, I shared many stories that I thought would interest them and took several commemorative photos at both the castle and the garden. Since this was their second day in Japan, I believe it made for a good start to their visit.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.

which was fabulous and the for a Kibe beef lunch, then toured Chinatown and did some
