Tour Itinerary in Detail
Meeting at Himeji Station at 9:30, the group explored Hyogo until the tour ended at 13:20. The day ran to 3 hours and 50 minutes from start to finish.
The itinerary covered Himeji Castle (Main Keep, Hyakken Corridor) at 10:00 and Kokoen Garden at 12:20.

I received a message that the guests would arrive 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. Since I was already waiting, we met right away and set off. The guests were very fond of Japan and showed deep understanding and empathy toward what I shared, being moved each time. They had watched SHOGUN, so I made an effort to convey the spirit of the samurai. As one of the guests enjoyed photography, we toured while I pointed out the best spots. The weather was fine, and since the way the sunlight fell changed over time, the guests were very satisfied with the great photos they were able to take.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.

After getting off to a rocky start our guide was wonderful! She took us to the Herb Gardens
which was fabulous and the for a Kibe beef lunch, then toured Chinatown and did some
