- 2. 11:10 @ Castle View
- 3. 11:40 @ Himeji Castle
- 4. 14:00 @ Koko-en Garden
- 5. 15:00 Disband @ Otemae-dori Street on the north side of Himeji Station
What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. We met in front of the Shinkansen ticket gate at Himeji Station and visited the Castle View spot, Himeji Castle, and Koko-en Garden, then bought Kobe beef skewers at a restaurant near Himeji Castle before heading to Himeji Station.
On the way back, some of the guests headed to the station separately, but there was an unexpected moment when one of them called and we had to search around for them. We managed to find them safely and headed to the station, but as there was not much time left, we ended the tour on Otemae-dori Avenue.
It was quite a hot day again today, but the weather was fine, and the guests took many photos and seemed very satisfied.

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
