- 9:30 Himeji Castle, castle keep (also visit the special exhibition)
- 12:30 Kokoen Garden, feeding the carp
- 14:30 Break (cafe)
- 15:20 Disband near the hotel
Title: What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were very lively and asked many questions, which made for an enjoyable tour to guide. They watched the special exhibition screen inside the castle keep with great interest. We proceeded while resting several times at the places where chairs were provided. As they had come from a region with a colder climate, I think it was quite demanding for them. At Koko-en Garden, a staff member called out to us and let the guests feed the carp, which delighted them greatly. Afterward, at their request, we took a break at a café I recommended. They were very fond of the almond toast, a specialty of Himeji.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.

After getting off to a rocky start our guide was wonderful! She took us to the Herb Gardens
which was fabulous and the for a Kibe beef lunch, then toured Chinatown and did some
