Tour Itinerary in Detail
This private tour of Hyogo began at 11:00, when the guide met the guests at Himeji Station, and finished at 15:30. The day ran to 4 hours and 30 minutes from start to finish.
From there the group visited Himeji Castle (Main Keep, Nishinomaru) at 11:30 and Koko-en Garden at 14:40.

This was the guests' first trip to Japan. Coming from Europe, they were deeply impressed by the beauty of Japanese wooden architecture, which differs from the castles in their home region, and they enjoyed comparing the two. They asked many questions, making for a very rich and substantial tour. The guests shared an interesting story about having once studied at the same university at the same time as a notable figure and even sitting at the same table. They shared many fascinating stories, and it turned into a very enjoyable tour.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.

After getting off to a rocky start our guide was wonderful! She took us to the Herb Gardens
which was fabulous and the for a Kibe beef lunch, then toured Chinatown and did some
