Tour Itinerary in Detail
The itinerary covered Himeji Station at 11:00, Himeji Castle, Special Exhibition at 11:40, Koko-en Garden at 15:00 and Himeji Station at 16:30.
The guests were visitors from North America. They were all friendly and easygoing, and the conversation was lively, making for a warm and cheerful tour. As it was their first time in Japan, they asked many sharp and insightful questions. They listened intently and showed a deep understanding. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and there were many people enjoying hanami, and the guests found Japan's cherry blossom viewing culture very interesting. Although there was a limit on the number of people allowed inside the castle, we were able to climb all the way up to the top floor of the castle keep, which they were very pleased with. After the tour, the guests said they wanted to eat oysters, so I recommended a restaurant to them.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.

After getting off to a rocky start our guide was wonderful! She took us to the Herb Gardens
which was fabulous and the for a Kibe beef lunch, then toured Chinatown and did some
