What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Owakudani and Mount Fuji Views
This was my very first assignment as an interpreter guide. The guests were visiting from North America, and since I had traveled in the same region before, we enjoyed sharing stories about it. It was their first trip to Japan, and I was asked about Japan's declining birthrate, to which I offered my own thoughts. The guests had also spent time living in Europe, so they kindly shared many stories about that region as well. The weather was not particularly good that day, but we managed to see Mount Fuji from Owakudani, and the guests were very pleased. It was an enjoyable tour from start to finish, and when we said goodbye at the hotel at the end, I received words of gratitude. This tour confirmed for me that I am well suited to the work of a licensed interpreter guide.
