Tour Itinerary
- 8:50 Meet at hotel. 9:11 Take the Kamigora Cable Car to Sounzan. 9:35 Take the ropeway from Owakudani. Take the ropeway to Togendai. 10:10 Pirate Ship. 10:50 Arrive at Motohakone Port.
- Walk to Hakone Shrine and back. 11:30 Take the bus to Hakone Sekisho-ato (Checkpoint Ruins). Maruyama Bussan. Sightseeing and shopping. Lunch at Donburi Chaya. 13:16 Take the bus. From Ninohira, walk to the Hakone Open-Air Museum (Chokoku no Mori) at 13:45. During the tour of the museum, at 14:45, the guests wished to continue exploring the museum on their own and return to the hotel by themselves, so a proposal was made to disband here, and we disbanded at 14:45.

The guests were a bright and cheerful family. They had good appetites — the black eggs were eaten up in no time, and they nearly finished adult-sized lunches as well. They became captivated by the presentation at the local products shop and purchased a secret puzzle box. At Lake Ashi, they ran around along the water's edge, which kept me on edge. At the Hakone Open-Air Museum they also ran around, and at the well-known net jungle gym they had so much fun it seemed it would never end. They found their way out of the maze very quickly, perhaps thanks to good reflexes. At the Sunny Side Egg installation, they did handstands. They came out of the Picasso Pavilion quickly. Since they wanted to play in the nets once more and would then return by the hotel shuttle on their own, we parted ways there.

Hiro-san knows Hakone!
Our guide, Hiro-san, did a wonderful job introducing us to the area of Hakone – leading us on a great tour of several requested destinations. We were lucky to see Mt. Fuji at the top of the ropeway, had a fun ride on a pirate ship on Lake Ashi, enjoyed a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant, and picked up some great souvenirs at a puzzle-box store which have wowed our family and friends. One of the great things that Hiro did throughout the day was to educate and amuse us with numerous pictures, stories, and lessons from his backpack. It felt like Hiro-san was part of our family that day and we can’t imagine having tried to experience Hakone’s great sites without him.

Kamakura was amazing. Enjoyed visiting the beautiful gardens and shrines. Hiro was a great guide. Having him guide us made the day stress free and much more enjoyable. It was interesting learning about Japan and the culture. I would definitely recommend this tour and visiting Kamakura.
