What Is a 6-Hour Private Hakone Tour Like on a Windy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests waited at the hotel entrance while I waited in the hotel lobby, so the meeting ended up starting at 9:15, but I worked hard to make up for the delay, and in the end the tour finished on a fun note with a group photo taken by one of the guests. Due to strong winds, both the ropeway and the pirate ship were cancelled. However, we made substitutions with marquetry woodwork (yosegi), the cedar avenue, and the Hakone Open-Air Museum. We made full use of the 6 hours. It seemed that woodworking-related craft was part of the family's background, so the guests took great interest in the marquetry, took a photo with the workshop's president, and made a variety of purchases. The guests showed me photos of their home and told me that the natural surroundings there are much like Hakone, blessed with abundant nature. They said they would like to come again.

I am Hiroki Morikawa :Hiro:, English guide living with my wife ,just a hop skip and jump from Hakone, Kamakura, Tokyo and the Mt. Fuji.
I am a friendly grandfather of 4 grandchildren.
I would love to help you enjoy Japan, using my 3 strong points.
First: I am used to dealing with any kind of matters. I have experienced various situations in the 40 years of my working life.
Second: I am good at making a friendly atmosphere between you and local people to help you enjoy Japan. I was raised in western Japan, studied in northern Japan and now live in central Japan. So I know various local cultures and dialects to communicate with a wide variety of people.
Third: I can explain things from a technical point of view.
For example, how the Great Buddha was constructed, because I am a master of engineering graduated from Hokkaido University.
Please enjoy Japan with me. See you soon!!
