I hold official qualifications endorsed by the Japanese government, including the National Government Licensed Interpreter and Certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor. I was born in the heart of Tokyo, a city I truly love for its charm and excitement.
I have spent about fifteen years working overseas, which has allowed me to experience diverse and wonderful foreign cultures. This experience has also helped me appreciate the attractive aspects of Japan from an outsider’s perspective. If you are looking to enjoy fabulous Japanese cuisine, one of my top recommendations is the Tsukiji Outer Market, known as Japan’s Food Town. This market offers a wide variety of traditional Japanese foods. You can discover and savor delicious seafood options, including sushi, sashimi, and grilled seafood, as well as wagyu beef, which is renowned for its tenderness, juiciness, and exquisite marbling. In addition to Japanese dishes, the Tsukiji Outer Market features a diverse selection of knives, cooking utensils, and kitchenware. You can choose from a wide range of specialty and household options to find the best knife and cooking tools to suit your needs.
If you’re looking for a famous sightseeing spot near Tokyo, consider Hakone. This popular mountain resort is renowned for its hot springs and a variety of attractions, including Lake Ashinoko and Owakudani, also known as the Great Boiling Valley. The area boasts stunning natural beauty, and on clear days, especially during the winter season, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. Located about 80 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, Hakone is easily accessible by train, bus, or car.
If you have an interest in unique aspects of Japanese culture and sports, consider exploring Sumo wrestling. This ancient sport, which originated from Shinto rituals, is the oldest in Japan. During matches, two wrestlers, dressed only in loincloths and sporting topknot hairstyles like samurai, compete in a circular ring.
