My name is Yukihiro Hoshino. I am a certified Japanese–English interpreter approved by the Japanese government. My work is to help travelers communicate smoothly while visiting Japan and to make their travel experience more enjoyable, comfortable, and meaningful. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them discover the beauty and uniqueness of Japan.
For nearly 30 years, I have worked in project management not only in Japan but also in the United States and several countries in Southeast Asia. During this time, I worked closely with local colleagues and gained experience in international communication and cross-cultural understanding. These experiences have helped me understand what overseas visitors often hope to see and experience when they travel in Japan.
I also had many opportunities to host important overseas clients when they visited Japan. One of my responsibilities was to guide them on sightseeing tours. I introduced them to famous places in Tokyo, organized sightseeing trips around the city, and sometimes arranged visits to Kyoto and other well-known destinations in Japan.
In addition, I occasionally accompanied their families, including their spouses and children. Together we visited places such as Tokyo Disneyland and explored “depachika,” the popular food floors in Japanese department stores.
These experiences allowed them to enjoy not only famous tourist attractions but also everyday Japanese culture. Sharing these moments with visitors has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Based on my experience as an interpreter and guide, I believe I can help make your trip to Japan richer and more satisfying. By explaining Japan’s history, geography, traditional culture, and the daily lifestyle of Japanese people, I hope to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the country.
I can guide visitors to sightseeing destinations throughout Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu and Okinawa in the south.
In Tokyo, the capital of Japan, there are many fascinating places to visit. These include the Imperial Palace, which stands on the site of the former Edo Castle; the famous shopping district of Ginza; the peaceful Meiji Shrine; the electronics and anime center of Akihabara; the historic Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa; the scenic Sumida River; the beautiful Kiyosumi Garden; and the lively Ameya-Yokocho market street.
There are also historically important destinations near Tokyo. Nikko is well known for Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine, and the beautiful Lake Chuzenji, and it is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Another popular destination is Kamakura, where Japan’s first samurai government was established. Kamakura is home to many Zen Buddhist temples and the Great Buddha of Kotoku-in, which is designated as a National Treasure.
