Shun

I am a 70-year-old man living in Kyoto. For the past 10 years, I have been working as a guide for foreign tourists. Although I am not originally from Kyoto, I have always loved the city and have visited it many times. I am very happy to be living in Kyoto now. Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over 1000 years, so the city is home to many historical and cultural heritage sites. In terms of food, there is a wide range from traditional Japanese sweets to modern dishes like ramen, allowing people to enjoy a rich food culture. Kyoto is a world-famous tourist city, attracting millions of tourists. I strongly feel that I want these foreign tourists to fully understand and appreciate the charm of Kyoto and leave satisfied. The main spots I guide are Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu Temple, Gion, Nanzenji Temple, Ginkakuji Temple, Nishiki Market, Nijo Castle, Daitokuji Temple, Kinkakuji Temple, Ryoanji Temple, and the Arashiyama area (Tenryuji Temple, Bamboo forest and so on.) In terms of food, I introduce sushi, tempura, ramen, udon, okonomiyaki, teppanyaki, and other reasonably priced restaurants.”
