Hi there. My name is Rie. I was born and raised in Osaka and now I live in Nara city, very close to Nara park and Todaiji temple. I’ve worked as a tour guide since 2016, mainly around Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. I once lived in the U.S., New Orleans, Los Angeles and New York. I studied English in New Orleans and came back to Japan to attend a culinary school . After I got a certificate, I started working at an authentic Japanese restaurant in Osaka. However, my dream was to live in the U.S., so I moved to L.A. And, I worked at a Japanese restaurant there. So, I think I can explain about Japanese foods well to you if you’re interested in them.

Amazing Kyoto Tour!
Visiting Kyoto has been a dream for a very long time and our trip there was so amazing and memorable that I already have designs on going back. Rie was our amazing guide, meeting us at our hotel in Osaka and filling us with history and facts during our drive to Kyoto. She guided us through beautiful shrines and temples, walks through key attractions as well as some hidden gems. She was so full of knowledge of this historically significant and beautiful city, and she even recommended a restaurant popular with the locals away from the bustle that became my favorite meal in my entire Japan trip. The cherry on top was changing an end of day itinerary so we could take a drive through Saga Toriimoto Preserved Street—simply gorgeous!
