Hello! My name is Nori, and I’m a tour guide here in Tokyo.
“Nori” is a kind of seaweed in English, which makes “onigiri” or “sushi roll”. But do not call me “sushi”. I am “Nori”!
I got a license for guide and a qualification for domestic itinerary control manager in 2015.
I have been working as a guide for about 4 years.
Consistently recognized by guests for my energetic storytelling, hospitality and flexibility.
In addition, I have a license of nursery teacher since I love children and I used be a nursery teacher.
I was born in Tokyo but currently I live in Urayasu city, which is close to the border between Tokyo and Chiba prefecture. Uraysu is home to Tokyo Disney Land and Disney Sea. Disney Land is almost the same as Magic Kingdom in the U.S. or other countries but Disney Sea is original in Japan. If you have a chance, please come to my city to enjoy Disney Sea.
I lived in New Jersey called a garden state in the U.S. with my family from 1998 to 2000 because of my husband’s job transfer. Then neighboring people were so kind to us that I came to want to be a tour guide for international visitors in return.
In my free time, I like to sell my old belongings such as clothes, books, bags and everythings which I do not need anymore using online flea market platform called Mercari. Decluttering and making money out of it is like hitting two birds with one stone. Somebody’s trash would be somebody’s treasure.
The other hobbies are dancing zumba and playing the piano.
I have three sons who are 33years, 30 and 27.
Many foreign tourists say that Japan is so clean without garbage on the street. But my sons’ rooms are very messy.
I want them to clean their rooms.
