Hello. Welcome to Shizuoka. I’m a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter, Nobuko Iida. Please call me Nobuko. Shizuoka is famous for Japanese green tea and Mt. Fuji. Shizuoka ranks first both green tea production and planted area in Japan. You can see Mt. Fuji towering over the vast tea fields at Ohbuchi-sasaba in Fuji City. You can also see Mt. Fuji beautifully at Lake Tanuki, Shiraito Waterfalls, Fujisan-Hongu -Sengen Taisha-Shrine, Miho Pine Tree Grove, Nihon-Daira and so on. Shizuoka also has historical and cultural sites such as Kunozan-Toshogu Shrine, Sumpu Castle Park, Tokaido Hiroshige Ukiyo-e Musuem. Ukiyo-e are woodblock printings.
