I was born and grew up in Kanagawa Prefecture. I majored in trade and foreign languages in senior high and in English language in junior college. After graduation, I entered an international shipping company and was in charge of logistics mainly in the Japan-Europe lines. But I couldn’t forget my dream to live abroad and then work as an interpreter and guide in Japan. After getting the first grade of the English Proficiency Test in Japan and a national guide license in English, I left the company. Then I took MA in Translation Studies at Birmingham University in the UK. The UK life is a treasure-like memory. I enjoyed classes, living on campus, and travelling. Upon returning to Japan, I started to work as a translator and interpreter in Tokyo. In 2005, my husband and I decided to move to Karuizawa to seek for a countryside life. In Karuizawa, a mountain resort, I started guiding in English and teaching English in addition to translation and interpreting. Since then, I have enjoyed meeting lots of wonderful customers. As for local work, at G7 Ministerial Meeting in Karuizawa in 2016, G20 Ministerial Meeting in 2019, and G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in 2023, I served as an interpreter and tour guide, all of which became precious experiences.
In my free time, I love travelling, running, skiing, watching dramas, and playing the piano. I hope to make more efforts so that customers will have great experiences in Japan!
