Welcome to Japan! Welcome to the beautiful western area of Japan!
I am Mizu, currently living in Hiroshima. I was originally born near Tokyo, but after getting married about six years ago, I moved from Tokyo to Hiroshima.
After I got a national interpreter license in 2021, I’ve worked as a professional tour guide in Hiroshima, Okayama, Osaka, and Kyoto.
Currently, I mainly work in Hiroshima and Okayama areas, as my home is conveniently located between the two cities—making access to both very easy!
Hiroshima is not only significant in world history, but it also offers beautiful sights like Miyajima Island, famous for its floating Torii gate. I ensure that you’ll see what happened here and also enjoy the natural and cultural beauty of the island.
Hiroshima is also known for its delicious local food, especially Okonomiyaki. This dish is sometimes called a savory pancake with noodles, and it consists of thin batter, chopped cabbage, noodles, egg, and various toppings. Most restaurants cook it right in front of you on a hot iron plate. We can enjoy a fun and tasty lunch together!
Okayama and the nearby city of Kurashiki are rich in history and tradition. I’d love to guide you through spots like Okayama Castle, Kourakuen Garden, and the charming Kurashiki Historical Quarter, where you can explore traditional crafts and architecture.
Between Okayama and Hiroshima lies Onomichi, a nostalgic town by the Seto Inland Sea. It’s very close to my place and perfect for a peaceful, scenic stroll.
Since I used to live near Osaka, I can also explain the cultural and regional differences between Tokyo, Osaka, and the Hiroshima–Okayama area in many aspects.
I’m truly passionate about sharing the history, nature, and beautiful locations of these areas with you!
In my free time, I love riding my bicycle and hiking. Since Hiroshima and Okayama are surrounded by nature, I can take you to some off-the-beaten-path scenic spots too!
Also, I hold a license as a Japanese Sake taster. Hiroshima is one of the top three Sake production areas in Japan, so you’ll get to learn about and taste authentic, high-quality Sake.
These areas are full of culture, tasty foods, and a variety of drinks. After exploring beautiful sights, let’s relax and have fun with delicious local dishes and Japanese Sake!
