We had a wonderful day! Our guide, Miyu, deserves 10 stars if I could give them. She contacted me in advance to confirm when our train would be arriving and she was at the station to greet us. She recommending changing the order of the itinerary based on the weather and it made the day much better than it might have been otherwise. She was very knowledgeable, patient, generous, and kind. She translated for me at lunch to ensure I was able to get a vegetarian meal, and she also translated some names into Japanese for us when we wanted to engrave some chopsticks we were purchasing. AND, on the bus on the way to Hiroshima, she pulled out origami paper and helped us make paper cranes to offer at the children’s memorial. That was such a thoughtful thing to do and it meant so much to us to have those to offer. She truly made the day so special for us and we appreciate it so much. We’d recommend this tour and her as a guide to anyone. Thank you, Miyu!

My husband and I had an amazing day with Miyu today. We took public transportation which made the ability to see so many things possible and was part of the fun experience. We took a bus, a train, and a ferry. We saw gardens, shrines, shopping and ate a typical local dish that was out of this world. We ended the day going to Mazda Stadium to catch a Hiroshima Carp Baseball game. One of my favorite days on our trip.

An Engaging and Extensive Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima

We very much enjoyed our experience on this tour with our guide, Miyu.

The first half of the tour (or maybe a little more) was exploring the island Miyajima, followed by coffee and lunch breaks, and ending in Hiroshima, visiting the Peace Memorial museum and some notable places around the area (Bomb Dome, various memorials, and more). We started at 10:30am and finished between 6 and 7pm, so it was basically an entire day. This all said, Miyu is open to crafting the tour however you’d like.

Miyu was very friendly and knowledgeable. Being from Hiroshima originally, she knows a lot about the history of the city and what it has to offer in terms of food and culture in addition to her extensive knowledge of WWII and what Hiroshima went through during that time. She was very open to answering questions and engaging in conversation. Given it’s a private tour, there’s lots of room to chat with her, which may be different from a group tour which is often much more listening rather than conversing.

We would definitely recommend you use her for this tour or others!
