I am Keiko, an English tour guide living in Kyoto prefecture near Nara. I started guiding in 2015. Before becoming a guide, I worked as an English teacher at a high school, and as a translator of international patent applications at my husband’s patent firm. I like Shakespeare, and I attended a university in the US for one year as an exchanged student. I have mainly guided famous temples and beautiful gardens which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kyoto and Nara. I have guided many private tours of couples, families and friends according to their requests. I can arrange tours to make the most of your time in Kyoto. I like taking care of children and elderly people. I have learned tea ceremony, flower arrangement and Kimono. I like to attend Maiko-san’s (geisha girl’s) tea ceremony and Zazen experience as an interpreter.
