Izumi

Izumi Ogura is a retired professor of American Studies, especially literature and history. I got a guide license when I was young and taught English for 40 years at several universities. I received Master in Arts at Boston College and Brown University, majoring in American intellectual history and literature. After I came back to Japan, I visited Boston, New York, and Hartford for my research in summer and presented papers at academic conventions in the States. Now that I am free from teaching, I would like to introduce Japanese history and culture to people visiting Tokyo, Kamakura, and Yokohama. I would like to become a cultural bridge for people visiting Japan. I have experienced guided tours in Tokyo for cruise guests and I like to talk over the microphone in a big bus.
