When I was a child, I really wanted to live abroad, so my parents got me a private English teacher. This started a passion that led me to study English at Kanazawa University. While at university, I won a scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education to study at NY State University for a year. After graduating, I worked as an English teacher at a senior high school for two years until I got married. For ten years, I raised three children and helped in my husband’s dental clinic. I never lost my passion for English, so when my children were old enough, I devoted some of my spare time to coordinating a volunteer tour group for eight years and giving tours as a volunteer guide for sixteen years. I decided to pursue my passion more seriously and became a government-licensed tour guide -interpreter in 2014.
Kanazawa is a hidden gem in Japan, boasting one of the top three most beautiful gardens, geisha and samurai districts and countless amazing museums. It is the perfect place to experience traditional Japan. Join me in discovering this hidden gem of Japan!
