Hello future guests! My name is Haruka. Born and raised on the Eastern outskirts of Tokyo, I consider myself more of a rental local friend than a regular tour guide. I love taking you to places that you would never find on your own and sharing Japanese culture through my own personal stories of growing up here.
I speak English at home with my husband who is from Hawaii, so I can communicate in English just as comfortably as I do in Japanese. I worked at Disney World in Orlando Florida back in 2015, where my role was to introduce the guests to Japanese culture at a Japan-themed souvenir shop in one of their theme parks. This gave me the idea of becoming a tour guide for overseas visitors when I returned to Japan the following year.
Tour guiding is my dream job, and I truly enjoy showing you around Tokyo from iconic sights to hidden gems. In addition to sightseeing tours, I have done a number of food tours and also hosted events and workshops where overseas visitors can experience all kinds of traditional crafts and performing arts. Some of my best memories include working with a small community of beautiful geishas in Tokyo as well as introducing the world’s leading athletes to Japanese culture at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Village in 2021.
I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you discover authentic Japan through the eyes of the locals!
