Although I’ve only been working as a tour guide for about 11 years, I’ve been involved in the travel industry for 27 years.
I’m passionate about Okinawa’s history and have even worked at archaeological excavation sites in Okinawa. As part of my work, I was involved in compiling the *History of Okinawa Prefecture* for the Okinawa Prefectural Board of Education, where I collaborated with Okinawan historians to research ancient historical documents from the era when Okinawa was the Ryukyu Kingdom and to uncover the events of the Battle of Okinawa. I continue to study archaeology and history to this day.
Furthermore, drawing on my experience organizing official documents from the postwar period—when Okinawa was under U.S. military administration—while working at U.S. military bases and the Okinawa Prefectural Archives, I have had the privilege of assisting on numerous occasions with visits to Okinawa by veterans who were once stationed here, as well as their families. I hope that through my guided tours, many of you will be able to fully enjoy your stay in Okinawa.
