Among the listed tourist site, Matsue Castle, Castle Town, and lake Shinji are within walking distance. You can enjoy the town in which history and present exist together.
Vogel park is 20 minutes away by local train. You can enjoy birds and flowers, including flying owl show. Train lovers enjoy the railway which runs along the lake.
Yushien is a fascinating Japanese garden with peony flowers, which is popular among international tourists. It is 40 minutes away by bus.
Adachi museum of art is about 1 hour away by train and bus. It has a collection of Japanese fine art and pottery, and above all, a garden awarded as world’s best Japanese garden.
There are more places or activities that attracts tourists in and around Matsue. Please tell me if you have any particular interests.
