Title: What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, Asakusa, and Yanaka

The guests were senior visitors from Europe. We began at the hotel with an explanation of the Hachiko statue in front of Shibuya Station, then walked over to the statue to take a commemorative photo. Next, we traveled by subway and strolled through Kiyosumi Garden. The guests seemed to enjoy walking around while large turtles and carp swam in the pond. We then moved to Kuramae and walked along the Sumida River Terrace while I explained the buildings on the opposite bank, including Tokyo Skytree, and they were delighted by the open, spacious atmosphere. In Asakusa, after explaining Senso-ji Temple from the rooftop terrace of the Culture and Tourism Center, we walked from Kaminarimon Gate through the Nakamise shopping street. Along the way, the guests enjoyed the stroll, including sampling kinako dango. After praying at the main hall, we had lunch and traveled by train to Nippori. We walked through Tennoji, Yanaka Cemetery, and the Yanaka Ginza shopping street, then visited Nezu Shrine. The guests seemed particularly impressed by the buildings dating from the Edo period, such as the tower gate, the Chinese-style gate, and the main hall, as well as the many torii gates of the Inari Shrine. The tour concluded as we left the shrine.

A notable stop on the tour was Nezu Shrine. Nezu Shrine is one of Tokyo's oldest shrines, and its current buildings, including the tower gate, the Chinese-style gate, and the main hall, were constructed in the early Edo period and are designated as Important Cultural Properties. The shrine is especially famous for its rows of vermilion torii gates leading through the grounds and for its azalea garden, which draws many visitors in spring.
