What's a Private Day Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Today's guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They were a very lively group, and we had plenty to talk about from the moment we met. We first went to Miyajima, but because of the high spring tide, we could not enter Itsukushima Shrine, so we visited Daisho-in Temple first. By the time we returned from Daisho-in, Itsukushima Shrine had become accessible, but there was a very long line to buy tickets. Since the guests said they did not need to go in, they enjoyed beer and grilled oysters along the main shopping street instead. They were also very pleased with the okonomiyaki we had for lunch. At the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, they listened earnestly to the explanations. Although the museum was very crowded, they took their time to look around thoroughly. At the end, they told me they had a wonderful time, which was a great relief. A notable stop on the tour was the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The park was established in memory of the victims of the atomic bombing of 1945 and stands as a symbol of the hope for lasting peace. It is home to the Atomic Bomb Dome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Peace Memorial Museum, which preserves records and belongings that convey the events of that day to visitors from around the world.
