What's a Private Day Tour of Kobe from the Cruise Port Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Today's guests were first-time visitors to Japan from North America. The guests arrived in Kobe by cruise ship. We met at the port terminal, visited the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens, Ikuta Shrine, and Sorakuen Garden, and then returned to the port terminal to end the tour.

It rained all day today. Because of this, the distant scenery could not be seen from the Nunobiki Herb Gardens, and at Ikuta Shrine and Sorakuen Garden there were places where feet got wet and areas that could not be walked, making the weather unsuitable for sightseeing. Even so, the guests took many photos and were delighted, saying that the flowers, trees, shrine, and garden were beautiful and lovely.

A notable stop on the tour was the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens. The Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens is Japan's largest herb garden, accessible by ropeway from near Shin-Kobe Station, offering sweeping views over the city and harbor on clear days. The garden features around 200 kinds of herbs and flowers across seasonal beds and themed areas, along with greenhouses, a glasshouse, and spots where visitors can enjoy herb-related products and refreshments. Its hillside location makes it a popular destination for enjoying nature, seasonal blooms, and the scenery of Kobe throughout the year.
