Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, and Tokyo Tower

I guided a group visiting Japan from North America. Their flight had been delayed by four hours and they arrived at their hotel at 1 a.m. the previous night, so I was concerned about their energy levels. After Tokyo, their itinerary included Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Osaka. They were delighted with the omikuji fortunes at Meiji Shrine. We were lucky to see La Festa Autunno, in which 60 classic cars set off from Meiji Shrine on a 1,300-kilometer tour. One of the guests loved cute items and did a lot of shopping at the souvenir shops at Meiji Shrine and along Takeshita Street, buying chopsticks, stickers, Mario goods, pet toys, and more, and also enjoyed a 10-yen bread. One of the guests was studying Japanese and wrote many notes in a notebook. They laughed at expressions like "iku zo" and "maji de," and I explained their nuances and usage. For lunch they requested ramen and said it was the most delicious they had ever had. After Shibuya, they began to look tired, so I checked with them, and we went up Tokyo Tower, rested for a while sitting at Zojoji Temple, and then I saw them back to their hotel, where we parted ways. They were a lovely group.
