Title: What Is a Private Tuna Auction and Tsukiji Market Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a very cheerful group visiting Japan from North America. They had become interested after watching tuna auctions on video platforms and joined this tour for that reason. They were first amazed by the sheer number of frozen tuna lined up at the auction site, and were further impressed as they watched the buyers determine their bids by assessing quality from the cross-section near the tuna's tail and from small frozen pieces of tuna, remarking that the buyers were truly skilled professionals.

After the auction, they enjoyed a sushi breakfast at a sushi restaurant inside the market. They were deeply moved, saying they had never had such delicious sushi before, and then laughed, saying they worried they might now be disappointed by sushi elsewhere.

At the Tsukiji Outer Market, they visited intermediate wholesalers and a specialty shop for Japanese knives, where they saw how the fish sold at the market are prepared with various tools and then sold to retailers and sushi restaurants. They were surprised that the wholesalers sold fresh fish in such clean and well-organized conditions, and remarked that this must be the reason the fish tastes so good.

A notable stop on the tour was the Tsukiji Outer Market. The Tsukiji Outer Market is a bustling district in central Tokyo lined with hundreds of small shops and eateries selling fresh seafood, produce, kitchen tools, and traditional Japanese food items. Long famous as a center of Japan's seafood culture, it remains a popular destination where visitors can experience the atmosphere of a working market and sample a wide variety of local specialties.
