# What Is a Private Sake Brewery and Apple Picking Tour in Aomori City Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

[Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide accompanied a guest from North America on a private tour of a sake brewery in Aomori City. The guest was studying Japanese and said, "Today, could you please guide me in Japanese instead of English!" Since the guest spoke Japanese haltingly, I made every effort to guide in simple, standard Japanese.

For someone like me who converses every day mixing in the Tsugaru dialect, I realized just how difficult it is to speak simple, easy Japanese in standard form! It was truly mentally exhausting.

Through a connection with a homestay host in Tokyo four years earlier, who came from Hirosaki City, the guest was staying in Hirosaki for a week. The guest was a wine sommelier and a certified sake taster, and visited sake breweries in Kanazawa, Niigata, and the Hirosaki, Kuroishi, and Aomori areas.

The trip continued on to Aomori, Hakodate, Muroran, Nagoya, and Tokyo, including a month-long homestay with Japanese lessons.

I also taught a phrase in the Tsugaru dialect.

A notable stop on the tour was a sake brewery in Aomori City. Aomori is well known for its rice cultivation and clean water, which make the region ideal for brewing high-quality sake. Visitors to local breweries can often learn about the traditional brewing process, see the fermentation tanks, and sample different varieties of sake, making it a memorable experience for those interested in Japanese culture and craftsmanship.

My name is Tomohiko Kudo.
I live in Aomori city.
I already visited more than 30 nations so far.
After official retirement from the public officer, I could have the Japanese Government Licensed Guide Certificate and am nowadays very pleased to guide overseas tourists all over the world.
Did you know that the Fuji apple is not from Mt.Fuji…but is actually from Aomori Prefecture’ Fujisaki town. Aomori is proud of the biggest apple product in
Japan. We provide 40 apple-pie restaurants to guests.
Let’s enjoy real Japanese culture and history with me. I would enjoy with you real Samuri history, Kimono culture, local traditional festivals, castle,
Japanese garden, temple, shrine, Japanese tea ceremony, food and Sake.
I often go to the local sea food and vegetable markets and eat fresh foods and would love to show you some secret, hidden restaurants that only Aomori locals know about – let’s go on an adventure together.
If you like sushi and fresh seafood, let me introduce to Nokkedon ?
What is it? Come to Aomori and find out! I am waiting for you.
