What Is a Private Day Tour of Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Herb Garden, Sorakuen, and Nankinmachi

Today's guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time. We met at the Naka Pier Passenger Terminal, then visited the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden, Sorakuen Garden, and the Nankinmachi and Motomachi shopping districts, before returning to the Naka Pier Passenger Terminal to end the tour.

It rained throughout the day. Fortunately, it was not heavy rain, and although we needed umbrellas, we were able to follow the original plan as scheduled. Since we started sightseeing early in the morning, all the locations were relatively quiet, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely visit. The guests seemed satisfied.

A notable stop on the tour was the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden. Located on the slopes of Mount Rokko, it is one of the largest herb gardens in Japan, home to about 200 kinds of herbs and flowers across the seasons. Visitors can reach it by ropeway, which offers sweeping views of the city of Kobe and the harbor below. In addition to the themed gardens, there are greenhouses, viewing terraces, and spots where guests can enjoy the fragrances and colors of the plants throughout the year.
