Tokyo First-Day Private Tour with a Licensed Guide: Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Odaiba Itinerary Report
The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had arrived in Japan the day before, and today was their first day of sightseeing in Tokyo. They planned to stay in Japan for about two weeks, visiting Hakone, Takayama, Kyoto, and Osaka after Tokyo. It was their first visit to Japan.
I guided them around Asakusa/Senso-ji Temple, the Tsukiji Outer Market, and Odaiba. Since the schedule allowed a relatively generous amount of time, I gave detailed explanations at each location. The guests were very friendly and listened attentively to my explanations at each place, and they enjoyed themselves. Unfortunately, it was drizzling slightly, but it did not turn into heavy rain, and they seemed satisfied with all of the places we visited. For lunch, we enjoyed street food at the Tsukiji Outer Market, including grilled seafood and grilled wagyu beef skewers. They were delighted, saying both were very delicious.
After the tour, they planned to visit teamLab Planets, so the plan was to end the tour at 15:00 at the nearest station, Shin-Toyosu Station. When I confirmed their entry time for teamLab Planets, it turned out to be between 16:00 and 16:30. Since there is no suitable place to spend the waiting time near Shin-Toyosu where teamLab Planets is located, we decided it would be better to do some shopping in Odaiba, the last place we visited, or adjust the time at a cafe. For this reason, I explained how to get to teamLab Planets and how to return to the Hotel, and ended the tour in Odaiba.

Haru (Haruhiko Yokota) was a consummate professional from the first comment he made contact with us. He asked for our visit priorities and designed an interesting and engaging tour over the several hours we spent together. This tour was beyond expectations! Haru, my tour guide, was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I feel like I learned so much from him throughout the day! I loved that I was able to choose from so many different sightseeing options. I simply gave Haru my list of preferred places and he did the rest! His patience with me as I took 4638 pictures was abundant! I would highly recommend this tour and I will certainly hope you have Haru as your guide!
