Title: What Is a First-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Hamarikyu, Asakusa, and Yanaka

The guests were a group visiting from Europe, and this was their first day in Japan. Since one member of the group could not walk for long periods, we used taxis and rented a wheelchair in Asakusa. The Asakusa Culture and Tourist Information Center offers paid wheelchair rentals, but the application had to be made through an app, which took some time; still, the guests were pleased. At Hamarikyu Gardens, thanks to a seasonal holiday period, admission was free for those aged over a certain age along with one accompanying person. At a confectionery shop in Ameyoko, they bought a large amount of food items tax-free.

At Marishiten Tokudaiji Temple, they received a temple charm and an amulet. Later, when buying stickers at another shop, they realized that at the temple they had intended to pay 4,000 yen but had actually paid 40,000 yen. Since the temple staff had said nothing and there was no receipt, we went back unsure whether the money could be recovered, but when we explained the situation, they surprisingly returned 36,000 yen without difficulty. A slight feeling of distrust remained, but we concluded that the temple staff were not truly bad, and that having bought a charm to ward off thieves had perhaps worked in our favor.

At Senso-ji Temple, one of the guests suddenly began to cry. When asked, they explained that a family member who had passed away three years earlier had once expressed a wish to visit Senso-ji together, but it had seemed impossible due to back trouble. Encouraged by the others in the group, they were able to come this time, and tears of joy overflowed.

In the latter part of the tour, we ran short on time, so after discussing it we had a light meal and went to Yanaka, where the guests decided to return on their own by ride-hailing app, and we parted ways there.
