Kyoto: Kifune Shrine & Jakko-in Temple — Guide Yuri

It was the guests' second visit to Kyoto, and they mentioned that they love Japan. On their previous trip they had visited the major spots and found them frustratingly crowded, so this time they wished to visit places with fewer people. We hit it off right away, and from personal conversations to topics about Japan, the conversation kept flowing enjoyably right up to the end of the tour. They seemed very satisfied with the nature-rich scenery of Kibune and the atmosphere of Ohara. They also asked many questions, and the topics ranged widely, from history to lifestyle. A notable stop on the tour was Kibune, a quiet area in the northern mountains of Kyoto known for its natural beauty and the Kifune Shrine. In summer, restaurants along the Kibune River set up dining platforms called kawadoko over the flowing water, offering a cool retreat from the heat. The area is also popular for its scenic walking paths and its peaceful atmosphere away from the busier tourist centers of central Kyoto.
