Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like for First-Time Visitors to Asia? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided a group visiting from Europe. Both were not native English speakers in the way they spoke, and this was their first trip to Asia. They were interested in Japanese culture and had already visited Tokyo and Fukui before coming to Kyoto. Because of this, they already had a fair amount of knowledge about Japanese culture and customs. In particular, there was no need to explain Shinto etiquette. Since we could not find a good time for lunch at the end, I accompanied them as far as the area near Nishiki. We walked a great deal, but I believe they had an enjoyable time. A notable stop on the tour was the Nishiki area in Kyoto. Nishiki Market is a narrow shopping street often called "Kyoto's Kitchen," lined with more than a hundred stalls and shops selling fresh seafood, pickles, tea, sweets, and other local specialties. Stretching for several blocks in central Kyoto, it has served as a food market for centuries and remains a popular place to experience traditional Kyoto ingredients and cooking culture. Many visitors enjoy sampling small bites as they stroll through the covered arcade, making it a lively and atmospheric stop on a walking tour.

Thoughtful tour with excellent support and service
The experience and tour were excellent allowing us to customize according to our desires. The customer service was very flexible and accommodated a late change in reservation due to an error in booking. The guide, Kei, was thoughtful in taking us to the shrines and temples and explaining the history and cultural significance of each. This was a very positive cultural experience and I would recommend it to you.
