What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Hamarikyu
The guests were a group from Oceania. They had arrived in Japan the day before, and today was their first day of sightseeing in Tokyo. They planned to spend a little over two weeks in Japan, covering most of the major tourist destinations. It was their first visit to Japan.
I guided them around Asakusa/Senso-ji Temple, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station (the Marunouchi building), the Tsukiji Outer Market, and Hamarikyu Gardens. They listened attentively to my explanations and asked a wide range of questions. They were both very friendly and clearly enjoyed the day.
For lunch, we went to a sushi restaurant in Tsukiji. It was their first time having sushi prepared right in front of them by a chef at the counter, and they told me the sushi melted in the mouth and was delicious. After the meal, a staff member took a commemorative photo including the chef, which they seemed to enjoy very much. At Hamarikyu Gardens, we had matcha and Japanese sweets at the teahouse on the island in the pond, and they were delighted, saying it was the best matcha they had ever tasted. They seemed especially satisfied with the food throughout the day.
Since they had a reservation at teamLab Planets after the tour, I finally guided them to the entrance of teamLab Planets in Shin-Toyosu, where the tour concluded.

Haru (Haruhiko Yokota) was a consummate professional from the first comment he made contact with us. He asked for our visit priorities and designed an interesting and engaging tour over the several hours we spent together. This tour was beyond expectations! Haru, my tour guide, was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I feel like I learned so much from him throughout the day! I loved that I was able to choose from so many different sightseeing options. I simply gave Haru my list of preferred places and he did the rest! His patience with me as I took 4638 pictures was abundant! I would highly recommend this tour and I will certainly hope you have Haru as your guide!
