What's a Private Day Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shukkeien Garden and the Peace Memorial

The guests were friends visiting from Oceania, and they had already been enjoying their trip to Japan, having visited Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara. The weather forecast had predicted heavy rain, but on the day itself it was only a light drizzle, very cool and comfortable. I had been considering skipping Shukkeien Garden depending on the weather, so I was glad we were able to visit it after all. The guests enjoyed the scenery of Shukkeien Garden and took many photographs. They also took their time viewing the Peace Memorial Museum. They said the exhibits at the museum were wonderful and that people should see them. The guests were very friendly, and the atmosphere remained pleasant throughout. We visited the Cenotaph, the Children's Peace Monument, and the Atomic Bomb Dome, and I guided them to the tram heading to Hiroshima Station before saying goodbye. A notable stop on the tour was the Atomic Bomb Dome. The Atomic Bomb Dome, part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the few structures left standing near the hypocenter of the 1945 atomic bombing. It stands as a powerful symbol of peace and a reminder of the importance of a world without nuclear weapons, drawing visitors from around the world who come to reflect on its history.
