Title: What's a Private 1-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ueno, Asakusa, and Skytree
This was my guiding on the second day in Japan for a group visiting from North America. They had first visited Japan earlier in the year, enjoyed it, and returned this time to travel together. After Tokyo, they planned to visit Hakone, Kyoto, and Osaka. I was worried about the intense heat and humidity, but since the climate in their home region is similar, they seemed relatively fine. Even so, I advised them to stay well hydrated throughout the day. At Ameyoko, they bought matcha sweets and some Japanese snacks I recommended at a confectionery shop, and picked up eye drops at a drugstore. They remembered the historical stories from the previous day's guide and listened with interest at Ueno as well. Since Yanaka has little shade, we kept our time there brief. A bus arrived just in time, which was a great help. As they wanted sushi for lunch, I took them to a sushi restaurant, and they were delighted. Lately I have had many requests for sushi, which I appreciate, though I worry a little about the sugar intake (laughs). At Sensoji Temple, some of the guests drew omikuji fortunes and got "great blessing" and "middle blessing." As we had time to spare, we decided to go to Don Quijote, where they purchased cosmetics and other items. I took them to Tokyo Skytree, for which they had a reservation, and we parted ways there. At the end, one of the guests asked me for a selfie, which made me very happy.

Our wonderful guide, Takako, took us on a tour of Tokyo. She helped us create a plan based on our interests and was flexible when we needed to change the itinerary a bit due to extreme heat. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and history from Takako, and we saw amazing temples and ate delicious sushi. I highly recommend this tour and Takako as a guide!

We had an amazing day with Takako. Takako got in contact prior to our tour to create the perfect itinerary. She collected us from our hotel and helped us get our travel cards and showed us how to use the public transport. Takako altered our tour and took us to Harajuku Takeshite street, which our teenagers really enjoyed. Takako was really informative and friendly and made the day really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in booking her again. Takako showed us more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week if left to our own devices. Thanks Takako and we will watch The Transporter!
