Tour Itinerary
- 10:55 Guests arrive. After preparation and meeting, departure. 11:33 From Gora Station, take the cable car via Sounzan, then the ropeway. 12:00 Owakudani. 12:20 Take the cable car to Togendai. 12:40 Pirate ship. 13:20 Motohakone Port. After strolling along the lakeside, take the bus to Hakone Checkpoint Ruins 13:50. Lunch at Donburi Chaya. Stop at Maruyama Bussan for yosegi marquetry. After that, 14:55 take the bus from Hakonemachi Port, transfer at Yunessun. 15:41 Take the bus to Gora Station. 15:55 Disband. Guests walk to the hotel.

Although arrival from Tokyo was delayed by more than an hour due to traffic, the group set off in good spirits. From the ropeway, thick fog meant that for a while only the rope itself was visible, which was unfortunate, but it created its own mysterious atmosphere. On the pirate ship, the guests tried the local black eggs. Because of the high humidity, the skies over Hakone have recently been constantly covered in deep fog, so Mount Fuji did not make an appearance. Even so, I did my best to take photos for the guests with the red torii gate and the pirate ship in the background. The presentation at the local shop was, as always, enjoyable and well received. The guests all loved Japanese food and finished everything they each ordered at the rice bowl teahouse.

Hiro-san knows Hakone!
Our guide, Hiro-san, did a wonderful job introducing us to the area of Hakone – leading us on a great tour of several requested destinations. We were lucky to see Mt. Fuji at the top of the ropeway, had a fun ride on a pirate ship on Lake Ashi, enjoyed a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant, and picked up some great souvenirs at a puzzle-box store which have wowed our family and friends. One of the great things that Hiro did throughout the day was to educate and amuse us with numerous pictures, stories, and lessons from his backpack. It felt like Hiro-san was part of our family that day and we can’t imagine having tried to experience Hakone’s great sites without him.

Kamakura was amazing. Enjoyed visiting the beautiful gardens and shrines. Hiro was a great guide. Having him guide us made the day stress free and much more enjoyable. It was interesting learning about Japan and the culture. I would definitely recommend this tour and visiting Kamakura.
