This was a private first-day tour in Tokyo for guests visiting from Europe. They mentioned that in three days they would be starting a 12-day cruise and would also visit the Nebuta Festival in Aomori. Because an extreme heat warning had been issued, I suggested changing the planned locations the day before, but since the guests really wanted to visit the East Gardens, Asakusa, and Meiji Shrine, we decided to proceed while taking extra care.

After viewing the Ninomaru Garden, I asked whether they would like to see the keep foundation or exit through the Hirakawa Gate. Since one of the guests wanted to see the keep foundation, we headed that way, but partway up Shiomizaka slope, one of the guests felt dizzy and sat down to rest. Their face was very flushed, so I believe they were on the verge of heatstroke. We stayed in the shade, took in fluids, and I offered salt candy and a cooling sheet, and fortunately it did not become serious. The guest was surprised to have felt unwell despite having been fine in hot places before—perhaps due to the humidity and fatigue after a long journey—and regretted not following the guide's advice.

We cooled down on the subway, took a lunch break in Asakusa, and the guests were very satisfied with the sushi they had requested. Along the way we stopped at a drugstore, where they purchased salt candy and cooling sheets. At Meiji Shrine, they received a charm for career success for their family member who is about to graduate from university. We walked across the Shibuya crossing they had wanted to see, took in the view from the 12th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, and I saw them off at the JR platform, bringing the tour to a safe conclusion. The guests were very grateful, and as a pleasant surprise, they offered to write a review themselves.
