Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 15:30 at @ Hotel and ended at 19:30. The day ran to 4 hours from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Ningyocho (Suitengu Shrine, Amazake Yokocho) at 15:50, Daikanyama at 17:00 and Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building at 19:20.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Shimbashi to Ningyocho by subway (180JPY); Ningyocho to Daikanyama by subway (350JPY); Daikanyama to Tochomae by subway (430JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 960JPY per person.
What Are Some Off-the-Beaten-Path Tokyo Spots? A Licensed Guide's Private Tour Report
The guests were visitors from Europe. They had already been to Kyoto and Okinawa and had explored the main tourist spots in Tokyo on their own. For this reason, they requested places with fewer tourists.
First, we went to Ningyocho. They were very pleased to visit Suitengu Shrine. They also seemed to enjoy the amazake and ningyoyaki. After that, we went to Daikanyama.
They took great interest in the stylish streetscape, which was completely different from Ningyocho, and enjoyed pastries at a cafe.
Finally, I took them to the site of the projection mapping at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

Tour of Tokyo- family with older teens
My family had an excellent tour around Tokyo with Rumi as two adults and two older teenagers. Rumi met us at our hotel and dropped us back there afterwards, which was really helpful as we were struggling with Shinjuku station. She was knowledgeable in the fish market and suggested food we might want to try from the best stalls. She showed us a great place for lunch where the kids enjoyed katsu curry. Rumi was very kind at the temple, showing us how to test our luck and providing offerings as well as walking us around the streets to buy souvenirs. She also helped with printing train tickets, checked up on us after an earthquake and sent through photos she had taken, none of which she had to do- she really went above and beyond expectations and made our first day in Japan a day to remember.
