What's a Private Day Tour of Kamakura Like from Yokohama? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were enjoying Japan in a cheerful and relaxed mood, and were staying in Yokohama during their trip. I began by explaining the historical significance of Kamakura. I then talked about shrines and Shinto, Buddhist temples and Buddhism, and how they relate to our way of life, guiding the guests step by step to Goryo Shrine, Hasedera Temple, and the Great Buddha, which they explored with great interest. Hasedera happened to be holding its hydrangea festival, but unfortunately entry to that particular area was restricted and we could not get in due to time constraints; still, there were flowers throughout, and the guests were satisfied. In the afternoon the sky cleared, and the Great Buddha set against the blue sky was truly impressive. For lunch we had mainly tempura, which the guests finished completely, and they bought honey on Komachi Street. They were captivated by the grandeur of Hachimangu Shrine. I took many photos for them.
