What Is a Private Full-Day Nagasaki Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group from Oceania who appeared to be enjoying the tour. At the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture, they listened with great interest to the historical role Nagasaki played during the transition from national isolation to the opening of the country. Since the guests had requested a Japanese restaurant near a sightseeing spot for lunch, I guided them to a wagyu beef restaurant near Meganebashi Bridge, which they seemed to like. Afterward, they visited Meganebashi Bridge, listening attentively to the story of how the bridge was built by a Chinese monk. At Suwa Shrine, they listened with interest to the history of the shrine's construction and how to properly worship there. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, the Hypocenter Park, and the Peace Park, they listened intently to the circumstances of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, the method used to identify the hypocenter, and the meaning of the Peace Statue. They also viewed with great interest the monument donated from Oceania.
