What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya

The guests were visitors from North America. Although it rained from the morning, we traveled by subway to Tsukiji, and after visiting Hongwanji Temple, we walked through the various specialty shops of the outer market while I explained about the ingredients and Japanese food. Next, we took the subway to Kiyosumi Garden, where the guests enjoyed strolling away from the bustle of Tsukiji, walking across the stepping stones. We then moved by subway to Kuramae and walked along the Sumida River Terrace while enjoying the view of the Skytree from Umaya Bridge. In Asakusa, we first had lunch at a ramen shop. After the meal, I gave a brief explanation of the history of Asakusa, and then we proceeded from Kaminarimon through Nakamise, shopping and taking photos here and there, before praying at the main hall. Next, while traveling by subway, I explained about Meiji Shrine and Japanese events. At Meiji Shrine, we walked along the approach path while I provided explanations at various points, and then entered the inner garden. In the garden, the guests admired the iris flowers in full bloom and took many photos. After praying at the main hall, they were amazed by the wide variety of shops on Takeshita Street, including animal cafes. Finally, we moved to the area in front of Shibuya Station, took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and at the scramble crossing, and concluded the tour. It was a difficult day for walking as it rained on and off throughout the day, but we were able to visit all of the planned destinations.
