What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera
The guests were visitors from North America. It was a very sunny and hot day, so I made sure to remind the guests to take breaks and stay hydrated, but the sky was clear and blue, which made for beautiful photos at Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera. At Fushimi Inari, the guests visited the main shrine and were amazed by the Senbon Torii. Because it was hot, we took a taxi from Kiyomizu-Gojo. Kiyomizu-dera was not very crowded, so we were able to take our time with photos both at the main stage and at the inner sanctuary. At first the guests seemed a little shy, but as they became more comfortable they spoke with me a great deal. Some of the guests knew a few Japanese words and asked me questions about Japanese vocabulary and phrases. After the tour, the guests planned to stroll around Gion, so I explained how to get back to their hotel and we parted ways.
